I’m about to purchase a townhouse and intend to replace the front door soon after we move in. I’d like the door to match others in the same row. I’ll be asking my neighbors for advice, but wanted to see if the forum also had suggestions of companies that could build a door like the one in the attached photo? Many thanks in advance!

  1. You might also try Eddie’s salvage on Grand and Greene. He is the door king and you may find an original old door that will fit.

  2. I used this tradesman back in 04, but I believe he is still around. He periodically comes to Brooklyn, and his work is gorgeous.

Alternately, I have seen similar doors at Recycling the Past in barnegat NJ (they do have a web site). Single doors like that are usually 250-350.00.

  3. There’s a guy somewhere in the south who makes custom doors out of reclaimed cypress. he’s on ebay sporadically. Don’t know what the shipping is but the prices are very cheap. Reclaimed cypress loooks just like that door.
