I have a bluestone sidewalk that needs to be reset and a couple of pieces replaced. I planned on doing it next year but I got flagged by my insurance company and they want it done now. Does anyone know of a good contractor. Not Bucscarello (Jabus).

  1. Just got a quote from Brownstone authority for 2 sections, 12ft x 18ft and 12ft x 4ft plus enlarging a tree pit.

    $7000

-ouch. lol i have to admit i had no idea on the cost but at that price this job just aint going to get done.

Yes it included demolition of a garbage bin and removal of existing pavers etc but seriously $7k for 2 days work???

NY contractors are out of whack. (or am i missing somethign and its the cost of the material etc?)

  2. We were also sent a notice from our insurance company about our front patio. We’ll be giving these companies a call to get estimates ins. I don’t believe I need a permit to do work but I’ll double check with the contractors. Thank you for posting.

  3. VinRoy Baronette promised to come out and see my job, but never showed up and never returned my phone calls. I went with J. Mos and was very happy with his work.

FYI, getting a sidewalk permit from Landmarks took almost 4 months, with lots of phone calls. The actual repair job took one day!

  4. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions. If you have more, keep posting – I’ll check back.

  6. Just repaired my bluestone sidewalk along with numerous neighbors after receiving DOT violation & notice from my insurance company. I was initially hesitant to use Buscarello after hearing very mixed reviews about their reliability, but could not find anyone else able/willing to do the job at a reasonable price. They have been working non-stop on my block for several weeks and overall doing nice work. They gave me a good price, showed up as promised, and did a good job, including providing vintage bluestone to replace areas of concrete that were removed. I made sure to be around to supervise the job. If you use them, be sure to connect with John (Buscarello Sr.) and be very clear about what you want.
