Looking to write up my own scope of construction and wondering if anyone out there wanted to share ones they’ve had that they thought went well. Looking more for an outline of content and style than specific details, of course.

Thanks!

  1. Do you literally mean scope or general contract language? If the blueprints are not fully detailed, I will go into as much detail as possible to make sure the scope is understood. I break jobs down into basic trades and indicate scope per room, frequently assigning the room a name and number. Fixtures and finishes should all be called out in line-item schedules.

Most of my jobs run very smoothly, on both contractor and owner’s representative sides, since I see contracts as something all parties want to achieve as efficiently as possible. A very detailed scope is simply a critical tool.

If you are interested, I’ll send you a generic scope as a pdf.
