I have a fairly long list of needs for a good handyman (including some sanding and painting, a bit of plaster repair and the like), but a couple of things that I think go beyond handyman qualifications (such as making a custom door). I’m looking for someone who does really quality work. Anyone have any strong rec’s? Or do I need to find three different folks: a high-end painter, high-end handyman, and finish carpenter? Interestingly I hired a handyman earlier this month to do the same jobs — sanding/patching, painting, custom door. Brian also patched and painted mouldings that had been botched by a previous handyman. He’s not only highly skilled and experienced, but is a good communicator and has great attention to detail. I’ve experienced some disasters with handymen so was thrilled to find someone good. Brian’s # is 646-831-6481.
