I am looking for a carpenter to build built-in shelves and put in a mantel. I have seen some recommendations on the forum but I am looking for a carpenter who has an aesthetic that matches the the Victorian moldings, fretwork etc. in my turn of the century apt. Many of the examples of carpenter’s work that I have seen have a very modern look. Anyone have a recommendation?

  1. I just had Clemmens Sippel (previously recommended on this forum) repair a kitchen drawer for me. He is speedy, reliable and thorough. A pleasure to work with. His pricing is fair and affordable.

  2. Check out Gavin Young Maloney’s ad on this site. He specializes in this kind of work. We’ve used him for a few jobs and his prices are very reasonable.

My understanding of mantles is you need a chimney expert for that, but I could be wrong.
