Anybody understand what ECCCNYS ANALYSIS means?

We have applied for a permit and the NYC DOB site shows a “B-SCAN List of Required Items” and there is a list of items required for this job. One of them is ECCCNYS ANALYSIS and I don’t really know what is that.

  1. additional paper-work
It is just accepted without checking even by the toughtest
    plan examiners in Brooklyn
    and
In most cases – buildings do not pass – and numbers
are manipulated to pass on paper –
    however
they are beginning to Audit some of the enrgy code analysis
in Manhattan for accuracy and input data.

  2. Not exempt if you are an exterior landmark and are changing the boilers. You may be exempt from the extrior stuff but not the mechanicals

  3. umm hey – it looks like from your posting from the BIS that you also need Landmarks approval. You might be exempt from the energy code requirements as a result – buildings in a landmark district are exempt from the analysis. But don’t take it from me – ask your architect.

  4. The architect needs to provide the anaylsis, there are exemptions, but you need to see if you qualify.

  5. That is:

Energy Conservation Code New York State analysis. Comming up in September will also be ECCNYC.

  6. Bikerboy you are hilarious, and you’re spot on regarding the LEED absurdity

But “if we can get paid for it…” I’m not optimistic on… just more filing busywork.

  7. nys energy code soon to be NYC energy code

depending on the building, state exemption, provide analysis, may require software such as reschek or comchek

more money for nothing while we give LEED Platnium for 10k sf vacation homes on mountain tops that need a three mile road to be built

on the other hand, more work for architects, enginners and expediters if we only can get paid for it
