I got a flyer from Nat’l Grid suggesting installation of a “Reset Control” to increase boiler efficiency. Anyone know what that is & what installing one entails?

  1. The simple straightforward answer is that the outdoor reset controller tells the boiler what the outside air temp is. This allows the boiler’s control relay to adjust the temperature of the water. Summer will mean cooler water and winter may be colder.

Simple answer. It can be a little more detailed if you wish, just repost.

Energy savings are about 5-10% I believe. MasterP correct me if am wrong.

NatGrid or a good plumber with a qualified service tech can install this fairly easily. Get quotes and go for it. They are great devices.
