We are renovating a galley kitchen and are looking for a good counter-depth refrigerator (French doors or side-by-side) and a better-than-average counter-depth gas range with convection oven. So far, we’ve looked at DeLonghi and Bertazzoni (too much $$$) and just the other day, our eyes were caught by the Bosch Evolution 700 Series. Does anyone have any other suggestions? We’re definitely looking for stainless…

  1. We have a Jenn-Air stainless steel side-by-side as well, but don’t really like that it’s counter-depth. If you are set on counter-depth it’s a really good fridge. If you are willing to consider a lightly used fridge, we would be happy to sell ours so that we can go back to a non-counter depth fridge.

  2. I installed a large side-by-side that was not 24″ deep but rather the deeper, cheaper model. I installed it on the side of the kitchen where I made a turn with the countertops that resulted in a deeper counter as I pulled out the one cabinet next to the fridge. Since it’s the corner it also reulted in a deep space for the blender, etc.

    Just an option.

  3. FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS for a REFRIGERATOR!? I bought a fridge a couple years ago for my rental (don’t ask, it was a deal I struck with my landlord) and it cost me $325. Great fridge, black doors, energy efficient, various climate compartments. It’s a Frigidaire.

Now, I get paying more for stainless steel and so on… but TEN TIMES more? Really?! AAAAACK!

  4. We’ve been really happy with our counter-depth Frigidaire, which was way cheaper than other ones when we were looking a year ago. It’s not Energy Star, which is a bummer, but I love how everything is laid out and the stainless barely gets prints.

  5. We have a counter-depth JennAir, side-by-side doors (I think it also comes in double top doors with a bottom freezer). Looks great, good interior configuration, seems to work well–we’ve had it about 3 years. High-end-ish but not crazy expensive (much less than SubZero and similar). Note that most of the counter-depth fridges (at least back when we were looking) are 36″ wide. If you want something narrower, the only option we found was the Liebheer–which we found pricey for the size–and a slightly lower-end but still perfectly nice Fischer & Paykel, which I believe were both 30″ wide.

  6. The Liebherr is a good 4K fridge option. We’re happier with the Summit FFBF285SS counterdepth, tall and skinny fridge. The inside is well designed to hold more and I like the bottom freezer in my galley kitchen. I think it was under $1500.
I looked at and liked the BOsch stoves too, but my gas lines came out of the wall at 24 inches above the floor, which made a more open back necessary, which only leaves GE. Please check your gas lines before you continue stove shopping – unless they’re right at the bottom, your stove will stick out a few inches beyond the counter.

  7. well after the op said the other brands were too much $$$ why would you suggest liebher?
take a cruise through the ajmadison.com site which has great search parameters…depth width etc.
