Has anyone used Richard Perri for a housing inspection?

I was thinking about using him since he is so highly recommended, but he asking for $1000 to do two condo units (total 825 sq ft). The last one I used was $350 for a four family house. I thought he and the report were acceptable.

I wanted to see what the difference was with someone so renowned, but I don’t want to pay for going overboard.

  1. I used Rich and i thought his report was incredibly thorough, I’m not sure what more he could have done. And even if he is endorsed by brokers, i gotta say the portrait he painted of the house wasn’t exactly glowing. he pointed out every little flaw and possible flaw, gave an indication of when various items may need to be replaced (roof, stairs), just gave a very rigorous rundown on everything.

  2. i just met with him today and thought he was amazing as a teacher…his unbiased advice was very welcome…i thought it was money well spent…

  3. Inspections have gotten alot more expensive, but $1000 seems high. We used Perri some years ago and thought his report was okay. He’s a very affable guy often recommended by brokers, which isn’t a real vote of confidence for a buyer, IMO.

We used Heimer for another property and the inspection and report was extremely thorough and detailed. I would get a quote from them.
