We have some VERY small jobs that a good plummer could bang out in an afternoon, but not a huge budget for one of the big outfits we have used in the past like Vigilante (who are great, but way too expensive!) and the like.

Any recommendations out there? Local and small biz preferred, but we’re open to any good experiences!

  1. The housecleaning service we use (Today’s Maid) just started a handyman service which includes small plumbing and electric jobs. We haven’t hired this new service yet but we intend to try it once we have a list of lots of little stuff to do in the house, which is what they recommend because it’s an hourly rate with a 3-hour minimum. The owner and her customer service has been excellent on the maid side and I’d be happier having an owner/dispatcher to call when using a handyman. Normally you’re trying to reach the handyman on his cell phone and it’s annoying, especially if he doesn’t show up and you’re trying to track him down.

  2. Winston Plummer (yes, that’s his real name & correctly spelled) 718 755 2802
He’s good, quick & reasonable & can also do other kinds of things.

  3. Try Ino & Sons. Mr. Innocent (yes, that’s really his name) is very professional, timely, and reasonably priced. He just completed a major job at my place and a series of small jobs. You can reach him at 917-407-4653. Tell him Chris from Decatur Street sent you.

    Good luck.
