I need to have sister girder support beam installed in a brownstone next to the original. Can anyone who has had this work done make a recommendation of who to use and what a realistic price might be?

  1. I just had a fair amount of structural work done (roof, facade, stoop, areaway)-though not at all the same as what you are asking. However, I highly recommend the company I used for quality, accountability, etc.: Wolf Restorations, Inc., 101 Lake Drive, Hewlett, NY 11557. Mark Hyman. Tel: 516-374-1294.

  2. In the event your still interested, call the company I use, IEB @ 718.204.2552

  3. I am not sure if you are speaking about a I beam replacement, but if you are you should spend around 14000.00. I had my replaced about a year ago and it cost me 13,940.00. I had my rotten wood I beam replaced with a 45 foot steel beam. The company I used was MWC 3477896550. I had no issue with them I think it took them two days. Good Luck.

  4. I have a company I use. There actually a desing build firm located in LIC and in Bklyn.

I know its not cheap to replace a girder or even have it sistered. You should replace it. sistering is a method that should be implemented only when the run is short. When the run is long, you will need to replace it with a new stell girder, new footings for you new columns that shall support the new girder and its load….the house.

Not a cheap job. I had it done and It was way worth it.

I can recommend you to my Contractor.
