I’m looking to install recessed lighting in the front and middle rooms of the second floor in my brownstone. The rear room is basically closed off by pocket doors and I’m keeping it as a different design. The problem is the width of the front room is 1.5 ft wider than the middle room and the difference is on one side not balanced (the hallway side). The middle room has a little closet in that space. We want to treat both rooms as one space but if we try to line up the recessed lights it will look strange. We could place all the lights the same distance from the wall but I’m not sure how that would look. Any ideas?
My experience with recessed lighting in my brownstone has been terrible. The lights burn out, the fixtures are sensitive and the bulbs are a pain to change.
I agree with you 2:16, but he/she lives there and therefore they will be bothered by it everyday,
not their guest.
no one but you would notice either way you go.
Keep in one line.
Buy a wide blue tape (3″) and cut it into squares, tape to the ceiling where you want the lights to be and see how you like it. See what bothers you more.
