Hi,

I am mounting Exterior Lighting Fixtures to my brick house.
I want the fixtures to be flush mounted on to the brick.
I am getting mixed opinions.

My question is which is the correct way to go
1) Carve out a hole in the brick wall to insert a electrical fixture box then mount the Lighting Fixture on to the box
2) Drill holes for the screws of the Lighting Fixture on to the brick wall; mount the fixture to the brick via the screw holes.

Thanks,

  1. #1- If you want your fixture to be flush mounted you should chop out enough brick for the box to go inside the wall. Be sure to use an outdoor electric box.
