How to make old chandelier UL rated?
I want to install a crystal chandelier leftover from the previous owner in a wet location (bath). The chandelier body is brass. Do I have to have it wired specially, and can someone recommend a reasonable person to re-wire the chandelier? Does the brass body need to be treated in some way also? Thanks
I don’t think you need any special wiring in this case. Neat to hear that you’re doing something so whimsical. I have an antique Victorian chandelier in my bathroom.
By wet location they mean for example in a shower stall ceiling or in an exterior situation. If you want to hang it in the middle of your bathroom ceiling it doesn’t have to be suitable for wet locations unless your entire bathroom is also a sauna. There is a place on Grand Street just below the Bowery that repairs lamps.
try the lighting stores on coney island ave or on bowery in chinatown. thye all so some sort of repairs.
