Big news at the Barclays Center construction site: Workers are starting to install glassy sections of the arena’s facade. The Ellerbe Becket and SHoP Architects design (click through for renderings), is heavy on the steel, but it will also have a glass curtain wall entrance and a swoop of glass at its midsection.

  1. Here is my honest assessment of how Barclays looks…I have no idea (and neither do any of you).
Obviously one can have an opinion on the rendering, but real life buildings never really appear like their renderings, and that becomes even more obvious here based on the tiny portion of the skin that is done – it looks very different from a colored pencil rendering.
But I certainly expect no matter what it looks like – good or bad – that the hate everything crowd here will….hate it.
