We thought we’d revisit the galactic-looking addition plopped on top of the existing three-story building at 509 Myrtle Avenue. Units went on the rental market at the end of September and the two-bedroom units were priced from $2,600 to $3,100. Then they all got pulled as of two weeks ago. Wonder why… maybe it’s that pesky partial SWO still on the building?

  1. Wow, looking at the picture I’d assumed that it was a shot of a big new construction building on Park looming over the smaller guys on Myrtle.

    That’s an addition?!? – yowza!

  2. Pretty fugly interiors for new construction; I just wish they would stop leaving those damned lights on the roof on all night; they’re really, really bright and annoying since I look right down on the Lego-esque thing.

  3. Anyone care to comment on the very nice job the developer did with the storefront and the rest of the facade? Everyone loves to complain. I’ve honestly walked by the building many times without noticing the top. I guess if you’re on the other side of the street you might take more note.

  4. this is trouble. the stop work order is because the contractor wants to be off the job. That means he did not get paid, and that could lead to mayhem. And would it have killed them to do something less blocky and incongruous? I mean, I am all for modern design- i am really- but this is just rude!
