A tipster reported another union protest at 235 and 277 Gold Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Out little birdie says that the union workers, who have protested this site before, interfered with the job site workers, “which prompted about a dozen squad cars to show up … and two bicycle cops.” The union protesters were handing out flyers pointing to their site Dangerous Development, which outlines their grievances against developers Frank and Kevin Lalezarian and Alex
Papadopoulos (Leviathan Construction Management Services). Our tipster notes that even if the site doesn’t go union, at least the McDonald’s across the street might get some good business. GMAP
I count 15 cars! I didn’t that they had that much staff in the whole precinct…must have gotten some people from the next precinct too….
“Out little birdie says ” — are you implying little birdie is gay?
unions in building work in nyc act more like organize crime, once they get some sort of “job” they’ll leave and not show up for work.
NorthHeights is right = 84th is across the street. I’m surprised they didn’t get the guys from the Fire house across the street involved as well.
Looks like the NYPD version of having H.S. English class outside on a summer day. Everyone can just hang in the McDs parking lot and be ‘on the job’ together. It’s almost cute and sweet – until you realize that our tax dollars are paying for this garden party.
“two of the most dangerous projects in all of New
York City”
Wow… really? Good thing the unions aren’t using hyperbole anymore to get work.
Why do they need to drive 12 cars to the location? The 84th precinct is literally across the street!!
My issues with unions aside, do you think there were enough cop cars rssponding to what sounds like a non-violent protest????? It almost looks like there are as many cops as picketers.
I hope there wasn’t any crime going on elsewhere in Brooklyn at that time.
