Straying from his home turf earlier this week, loyal reader and tipster Denton spotted a big development in the Downtown Brooklyn landscape: Toren’s scaffolding is no more…In related news, as of this week, there’s now a yoga studio located in the SOM-designed building. With the new pool also open, Toren’s shaping up to be quite the healthy building.

  1. Ugh, the one bedroom layouts are the same ole, same ole 2 room thing. It amazes me that people actually buy this kind of crap.

I can’t even comment on the studio layouts, that would be too easy…..

all in all the building looks good on the outside, but these architects really do have to come up with a better plan than this 2 room crap, it is getting old and tired already.

  2. I’m really glad the scaffolding is finally down. It’s a great improvement to the street scape. Better yet, would have been to have trees planted along Flatbush Avenue Extended and on Myrtle Streets in front of the Toren to break up the bleak stretch of solid concrete.

  3. Looks as if NO grocery store is going up around the corner from this. The space that was promised to be a grocery store on the corner of Navy St. and Myrtle now just has “retail space for rent” signs in it.

    Starve hipsters, starve.

  4. I went up to the 20th floor and was able to look at the views. Pretty amazing. There is a corner apt that looks straight up the Manhattan Bridge’s skirt, with views of the Williamsburg and Brooklyn bridge all in one shot. And on the other side is a pretty awesome shot of the Williamsburg Savings bank and all the way back to the Verrazano. Sweet.
