This Will Probably Be The 7th Hotel to Call Gowanus Home

Our memory was clouded a few weeks ago by the excitement surrounding the opening of Gowanus’s fourth hotel, the Super 8 on 3rd Avenue and President, and we wrote at the time that there were only two other hotels going up in the neighborhood. Not so: In addition to the builds on 13th Street and Butler Street, there’s also a small hotel under construction on Degraw between 3rd and 4th avenues. I actually haven’t heard about those CGar.
But then again, I wasn’t hanging out in the redlight district. 🙂
I meant Taxi Boys and Hour Hotels.
11217, I assume you’ve heard of the “Hour Boys” and “Hour Hotels” in BA? Thought it was really funny when I was there that there are maps of them (the hotels, not the boys, that is).
This one is nice looking.
But to those who rail against these hotels, I called the Holiday Inn Express recently to inquire about a room for my sister and they were sold out for the weekend I was asking about.
Just fyi. These places do get used. Whenever I walk by the Holiday Inn, I see a gaggle of European tourists out front. Mostly German, it seems.
At least this one is nice looking.
i could really use an hourly place in this area of bk. 😉
Does any one know if any of the existing hotels have hour/day rates?
