I was in the Brooklyn Visitors Center a few weeks back and a couple came in asking if they had any recommendations for a hotel room under $200. They were stumped. Of course these are volunteer retirees, many of whom don’t really know all that much about the borough and just point to the brochures. But it made me more aware that hotel rooms in Brooklyn will fill up if they are in this price range, even if the design is mediocre and they look out on ugly stretches of commercial avenues.
I think its’ both surprising and maybe indicative of their mindset but the lobby in the picture above doesn’t look like the one in their site photo and their photo gallery has more pictures of Prospect Park and the Botanic Garden than it does of the hotel. And no interior shots. The exterior shots are the equivalent of all the airbrushed celebrity shots. Pretty but not necessarily the reality.
It looks so cheaply done. Not even good modern. And I hate the high chairs. They’re uncomfortable especially if you’re short.
