  1. The Developers Group do not build or develop. They are marketers, crappy ones at that. One of the owners is a little man named Elan Padeh who used to work for the corcoran development division. He got fired and took all of corcoran’s technology and know-how and opened up the developers group. He is the guy who was touting his 2 boats and bran new BMW as his real-estate funded toys to the Real Deal, this guy and his company are the most self-absorbed sleazy people, its amazing idiot people like this can run a business, let alone make money. It must be the signs of the real-estate times when a group like this makes money. They are just appalling!! By the way he is trying to sue corcoran….

  2. I certainly DO NOT work for the Developers Group…I put in a bid for #1 unit and didnt get the apt….Say what you will about the outside – the inside is gorgeous !! 1658 SF for 725k these days is pretty reasonable in my book(approx $440/SF) – 1000/SF in DUMBO/Park Slope/Brooklyn Heights etc… As for the condition of McCarren park – the same can be said about Washington Square Park, Gramercy Park and many, many others…When all the high rise buidings get put up and filled, the park will get the necessary $$$$ to redue and make it sweet. Gotta have some foresight.

  3. As part of this McCarren Park series, I’d like to note that in my opinion (and I’ve been looking at it for a long time), McCarren Park is pretty junky. I find it weird that so many buildings can be billed as luxury living on the park when most of the area is bleak and industrial, the park itself is weedy or full of bald patches of dirt (the grass never survives there for some reason), and what “facilities” there are are rundown. And seriously, does no one notice that in Gpt and Wburg, there’s constantly garbage all over the streets? Am I the only one?

    Curious.

  4. I for one will actually defend the Developers Group. I don’t think this building is particularly attractive, but the appartments look nice inside.

We looked at the Developers Group’s place on South 2nd Street. They were very nice and well done. Their 8th Street places in Park Slope, which are presumably going on sale soon, also look nice.

And I state this being generally anti-development and very opposed to the Bricolage/Henry R. mess going up in a bunch of places. To the extent Brooklyn development is going to happen, I’d rather it be the Developers Group than most others!
