One contributor, who goes by Crystal Cakes, has been tracking the erection of a five-story condo development from the perch of her kitchen window in Bushwick. Here we’ve lifted Days 9 and 44, and as you can see construction is proceeding apace. Notable moments have included the loss of a favorite pear tree. What’s the address, Crystal? Agreed. I have lived in Bushwick for two years and the improvements have been extraordinary.
Funny story. I was walking up Montrose about a year ago and saw some dude throw garbage on the ground like maybe 5 feet away from a garbage can. I walked over and put the garbage in it’s rightful place. As I did so a “local” walked by and said “See! They are trying to change the neighborhood!” Amazing.
develoment is not killing bushwick . the long time residents were killing bushwick for a long time . things are changing now for the better
Didn’t look like they did anything to the neighbors property to makr sure the house didn’t settle afterwards. Compared to south brooklyn these guys are moving fast. I am going on 8 months and they have not finished the hole yet.
