forte
When Curbed checked in on Forte’s progress in early December the Flatiron-of-Fort-Greene was about six stories high; as of this past weekend, it was over twelve. How long before it tops off at 28? Anyone know who will be marketing the 108 condo units and then sales will get under way?

  1. 6:12, Forte is set back because there is an easement along the west side of Ashland Place. I have seen marketing where the developer advertises the open space as an amenity, but they didn’t really have any choice.

p-d, the center portion of Clinton Avenue, between Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue, is zoned R6A. The height limits for that district are; base: 40′ min, 60′ max; building: 70′. The first 100 feet into the block from either Fulton Street or Atlantic Avenue is zoned R7A. The height limits for that district are; base: 40′ min, 65′ max; building: 80′.

  2. Babs is mostly right, but there will be a sales office opening in brooklyn. There’s a trailer parked across the street from the Forte that looks like it’s gonna open soon as a sales office.

  3. I find it bizarre that they couldn’t find a better solution to layouts than setting the building back from the street wall. Who approved that?

Meanwhile, is there retail space in the ground floor?

  4. Any REBNY agent (Brown Harris Stevens, Halstead, Douglas Elliman, Corcoran, etc.) in town can get you in to show you the place. It makes sense to work with a local broker to see this kind of thing so that you can get somebody to help you negotiate and to show you other properties as well.
