This just in from a reader…Fire broke out a little while ago at 216 Pacific Street (between Court and Boerum), the former garage currently being converted into a mixed-use building with three apartments. Fire Dept. response time was pretty good (though it likely would have been better if that old building next to it was still a firehouse!).
At any rate, the construction guys spent about ten minutes or so trying to put the thing out themselves and as far as I could tell I was the first to call 911. It also looked liked the fire was mostly contained to the scaffolding and the area immediately around it.
Of course, I walked away when it looked like it was under control so the whole thing could be gone by now.
