This new residential building at 504 Park Avenue just east of Bedford appears to be reaching completion. The most noteworthy aspect of the building (besides its eyesore looks) is the size of the apartments. According to the New Building Permit, the building is six stories and over 26,000 square feet. Buildings like this look like they belong in the suburbs of Stalingrad, circa 1970. There really ought to be some minimum visual standards applied to all new construction in NYC.
The balconies look too small for sukkahs but I still would assume this is built for the Satmar Hasidic community. Location, appearance and large apartments are fairly typical.
Not that amazing when you consider the location and target market.
