We can hardly stand the Fedders anticipation!

It is because under each window you see the word fedders, it is ugly, I hate reading the word fedders. Some facades can HAVE AS MANY AS 20 fedders boxes screaming at you.
Window a/c don’t look so great, but we do need them, and as OP said they are seasonal at least I know my 2 a/c’s are…as I take them out of the windows and store them in the closet.
The grilles look better in the new high rises
it pretty bland. it’s not that big of a deal tho with the brown facing-could be worse-i don’t thing that that’s some sort of pristine street and probably won’t ever be anyway. i agree that I’d rather have wall thru than a a/c unit out the window. they are truly ugly.
It is sad to see something this ugly next to a traditional brownstone.
>cause the window a/c’s are a scar on these otherwise beautiful homes but then we go around denouncing the Fedders box which looks a heck of a lot better than a rusty…
I agree. Flush fitting a/cs are a lot better looking than window units. I don’t understand the hate either. As I asked before, is it because they are Fedders? Or any thru-wall brand?
I believe this is the owner of the Five Spot
“Who is the architect for this?”
Rob?
Fair, BOD but it seems to me that most people leave them in all year and they look even UGLIER in the winter when people put those plastic covers on them.
The whole thing just seems a bit hypocritical to me cause the window a/c’s are a scar on these otherwise beautiful homes but then we go around denouncing the Fedders box which looks a heck of a lot better than a rusty, uneven $149 LG special at PC Richards window a/c.
Do the older Friedrich boxes count for landmark status?
Seriously, though, this is pretty blah–future rentals?
Look at the ugly cheap awning next door…..those lawyers have no class and no taste.
the openings on this new bldg are bit wider and shorter than the fedders boxes for thruwall a/c units. Looks more like the type of cooling/heating unit with grill on outside of bldg common in condos.
11217 – window a/c maybe not pretty but those boxes are ugly advertisements and in 2 years have rust streak running down the buildings from them. At least many of the a/cs do get removed for good part of the year.
