As we’ve said before, we think the eastern portion of Prospect Heights is ripe for new developments; obviously, a few developers agree with us, as evidenced by the numerous projects in the area. On St. Marks Avenue between Washington and Underhill there are two such projects underway, both of which involved tearing down some not particularly scenic rowhouses (insets). At 324 St. Marks, a four-story, 16,000-square-foot residential building is in the steel stage; ultimately, there will be eight (rather large, some basic math would suggest) units. Meanwhile, a few lots over at 336 St. Marks, there’s only a fence application listed on the DOB website, so dunno what the plan is. Anyone?

I couldn’t agree more with anon 7:10 & 1:17. I purchased a four family on St Markes between Vanderbilt and Carlton. I expect the area to do very well. I may sart a Reno Blog on it. Unfortunately the prior owners gutted it about 15 years ago and did a cheap ‘upgrade’. I intend to do a full gut using quality finishes. Let’s go Prospect Heights!
All you have to do is look at how much is being upgraded in that area to know that its a great place to be. Also St Marks is close to almost every train line. There is good retail on Vanderbilt already and huge potential for more on Washington…
What? St. Marks is a great block?!?! Regardless of AY…
St Marks is getting too close to AY to be very desirable if it is closer to Flatbush
You idiots, the development sites are not the ones in the caption. You morons should get your facts straight before you erroneously submit your quota. Jack-offs
I pray not because we have our neighborhood garden there.
Anyone know of similar plans on St. Mark’s between Vanderbilt and Underhill? Some empty lots there, too.
