The skeleton of a single family residence has started to go up in the space at 16 4th Street between Smith and Hoyt where a one-story garage used to stand. We’re curious to see how this one turns out. Care to place an early bet? Here’s hoping for the best. GMAP

  1. The view from Smith down Fourth to Bond is one of the lovliest view in Brooklyn. The industrial landscape might not say “home,” but the buildings at the bottom of the hill are amazing. There’s a lot happening on this street (I walk down it daily to my office), and I would be more than happy to live along here. I have no idea what the single family home will look like, but I hope they put some effort into the facade. There’s a really love old carriage house across the street from that. There’s also work going on in the unusual lot just down the street. It used to be a run down garage in front of a small house, and now ia new structure is going up.
