Development Watch: 870 Pacific Street
This new building at 870 Pacific Street, originally approved for construction in 2007, is still inching along towards completion. When it’s done, the 10,000-square-foot building will have eight units and zero architectural bragging rights. GMAP DOB
why didn’t you mention the architects name? oh yeah, you only pick on two specific architects
2nd Floor balconies ARE allowed by code! They just aren’t considered permitted obstructions. Ditto with upper floor balconies – you usually see them limited to 50% of the street frontage because this is the max to be considered a permitted obstruction.
There is nothing to say your entire building could be nothing but balconies, provided you provide with lot coverage etc.
Having said that…ugly as sin.
On the other hand, the renovation at St. Joseph’s next door is going along at a decent clip and looking good. Maybe it will draw the eye from this P.O.S.
Really horrendous garbage!
Less than zero.
Second floor balconies are not allowed by code.
Those upper balconies are some of the largest I have ever seen on a building like thi, as far as their protusion into the front yard goes.
