Development Watch: 571 Carroll Street Now on Show
The scaffolding has come down at the 18-unit project on Carroll between 4th and 5th avenues, and this is what it looks like. Anyone know if it’s going to be a condo or a rental? Development Watch: 571 Carroll Street [Brownstoner] GMAP Development Watch: 571 Carroll Street [Brownstoner] DOB

I like it, although, like etson I wish it hadn’t been set so far back. But other than that minor quibble, I think it looks very nice.
It looks real nice on the outside, but it is the layouts that are important. I will look foward to seeing them, but Im sure its the same ole 2 room thinh, lets not got here.
As for the concrete, I hate it also, but Id rather have a parking spot than a tree, sorry, I have a car and I know what it is like to search for parking every night. LOL
m4l — well, it is surrounded by fairly crappy buildings. Could be the start of a block-wide renovation!
Check out the 3rd floor side window of the neighboring building (left-side in the Brownstoner photo). That guy is bummed. He just got half-bricked.
This building seems pretty good. There are a couple of new and nice “semi-contextual†buildings that have gone up around here recently between 4th – 5th.
Also, I love how in GMaps StreetView when you turn West you can see the finger building on 4th. Who builds an 8 story building on a 20 foot lot?! That building is so weird.
I have seen way worse BUT!
Terraces that close to each other arent usable in any way.
Who wants to see their neighbors at ease that close up?
And cement gardens cause run off and are bad for the environment – sowwee *Wob…
if you remove the balcony/terrace, it looks good and like the old bldgs in the hood. if this was next to a usual fedder POS, we would be saying “WOW, this hot” or something like that.
I quite like the look of that
Wow – why pick just one style when surely more styles will mean more sales! And save money on oil changes by doing in your own front yard. Win-win.
But since it’s actually a *decent* building…. me thinks that means it will be a “luxury” building!!! no doubt.
