The scaffolding has come down at the 18-unit project on Carroll between 4th and 5th avenues, and this is what it looks like. Anyone know if it’s going to be a condo or a rental?

  1. thanks for noticing our project at 571 carroll st. The project consists of 15 one bedroom
rentals. 3 one bedroom duplexs on the top floors. The ground floor will consist of three individual lobbies with large front gardens.
The middle will have a drive under to access 10 parking spots under the rear of the building and yard. No concrete or garages under the front, they will be very detailed entrances to the court yard entrances. the units be approx. 600 sq. ft. and start at $1500.00 per month without parking. parking will be offered at first come basis and run about $250.00 per month. the ground floor will also have laundry rooms for tenants as well as storage rooms in the basement. Our goal was to compliment the character of park slope and offer affordable rentals for the area. rental applications should be available soon, we expect to complete the project around june 2010. large common roof area as well as private outdoor terraces for each unit. central heating and cooling. The balconies are
a great place to read a book or enjoy a glass of wine on a nice summer day, maybe say hello to a neighbor face to face instead of using a computer or cellphone. good old fashion
interaction. maybe thats what we need more of.

  2. Attractive building – however if the growndfloor is garages then I strenuously oppose it, Otherwise nice and Ljubitca the balconies actually arent close at all since noone is going to be sitting on the juliet balconies.

  3. It’s interesting. Not attractive, yet not completely fugly.

Those silly Juliet balconies on the 2nd and 3rd floors were a mistake. The whole thing has a weird staggerstairstep effect to it.

No Fedders boxes in sight though, whew!
