Work began at 112 Underhill Avenue at the end of the summer. The new building is slated to be a three-story, two-family house of indeterminate aesthetic quality. Let’s hope for the best. GMAP P*Shark DOB

Waaaaait, you mean the DOB permitting process doesn’t have a box where you indicate the aesthetic quality of your building?? Perhaps ranking from “Fedders” to “HOTD”?
Well, if you look at the new building across the street, it would be hard to top that – it is its own little horrorshow but the block is a mixture of buildings with different setbacks and styles, so I don’t think it will be much worse than other new buildings going up.
I’m sure it will be ugly and basically ruin any hope of the adjacent brick building selling at a good price. It will probably bring down the property values of the entire block at least 10%.
(I’m trying… it’s a little hard though)
