Permission to build this four-story, seven-unit residential building at 904 Kent Avenue in (technically) Bed Stuy was granted last December and so far the results are looking rather boxy. We wouldn’t bet on this one being a beauty. GMAP P*Shark DOB

  1. 904 Kent Ave was where I grew up. There was a beautiful brick porchfront three family house there with a picket fence. wonderful yard with a little “cottage” where my uncle and his family lived. That street was amazing to grow up on. Very diverse; lots of ethnic backgrounds but it was immaculate and safe and happy once. Breaks my heart to see this.

  2. Actually, the building to the right is not abandoned and is a working auto body shop and the lot to the left is being cleared out for what could be another project/building. At least this building will not be another glass atrocity.

  3. What a shame that this new development will mar such a lovely streetscape. We need to immediately designate the Abandoned Warehouse and Vacant Lot Historic District to prevent such travesties in the future.

  4. What is that thing, a model made from Lego blocks? Did I spell that correctly?

You can quote me. You can now call all such buildings “Lego/Leggo buildings” as you call some “Fedders buildings”.
