Up the road from the J Condo, the new development at 206 Front Street, aka The Vista, looks like it’s almost ready for prime time. Corcoran has ten units listed on its website, ranging in price from about $600 to $800 a foot. The best bang for your buck on paper from where we sit is Apartment 6C, which has 1,173 square feet and a balcony, and is listed for $774,180. Does anyone know when the first showing is? Any other chatter on the property?

This building was offered by AptsandLofts. From what I had heard, all units were sold or in contract as of spring 2005. But they’ve been working on this building forever it seems. Heard there were a lot of problems with contractors/architect, etc. It’s Scarano alright. Here’s the details from the website:
THE CASA (SOLD OUT)
92 CONSELYEA ST., Williamsburg
Sky’s the Limit. Think Vertical.
The Casa, designed by Scarano Architects, is a 24-unit modern masterpiece of clean vertical lines: traditional brick artfully combined with contemporary aluminum and anchored by a natural gray-stone base.

It’s one thing to have a cell phone tower in a building where you don’t have access to the roof and/or you’re many feet/stories away from the roof/top. It’s a different story if you have access to the roof, the developers make a point of selling roof rights, and you spend time up there with the cell phone towers – like in this building.
Also keep in mind that some co-op boards have voted to lease roof space for the installation of cell phone towers. (There was one case recently in Park Slope where the shareholders were not consulted before the board’s decision and were fighting to stop the installation.)
The cell tower comment is pretty stupid. Cell towers are everywhere in the city and even if you find a building without one nothing will stop your next door neighbor from putting one up.
Anon 1:46 — who is your attorney? s/he sounds pretty sharp to have noticed that. care to give a recommendation?
Cell phone towers may be linked to health issues… nobody knows for sure right now. My question is whether the Sponsor’s right to install a cell tower is unique vs. offering plans for other condos?
Pardon my for my lack of knowledge, but what is the big deal re: the cell tower?
When (or If) the Jehovah’s build on 85 Jay, dumbo and vinegar hill will feel more tied together. That big gap between Jay and Bridge st kills the continuity…

I didn’t know about the cell tower issue. Good to know; I am no longer interested in this building. sigh…
