New Development: 1142 Bedford Avenue [Brownstoner] GMAP P*Shark DOB
i think it’s a great addition to bedford. the y is fantastic (i’m heading over there now) not everyone wants a brownstone…well designed modern spaces will be a nice contrast to the neighborhood. next project should be that gorgeous warehouse bldg that sells furniture in back. that place is ripe for development…
I think it’s sharp, well designed, will be an asset to the nabe. Bedford Avenue is a beautiful street and can absorb a new look. No ax to grind: I live almost two miles away in Ditmas and don’t work in real estate.
I’m prety happy i just closed on a brownstone about 10 houses up on Monroe….
I’m going to hopefully be doing some renovations on it. I think the neighborhoood is attracting a lot of hipsters, and the project will do well !
6:27 – obviously you have never seen the Bedstuy Y, so why are you commenting? It is a wonderful facility which the community is really enjoying. Can you just hold your comment on Park Slope for an appropriate moment (which admittedly are far and between on brownstoner)?
The area where this going up seems to have a variety of housing stock. Some blocks seem lovely others not so much.
Not to mention Bedford Academy HS right across the street that was recently given an A rating!
The YMCA is not a benefit if it operates as an SRO like the one in Park Slope.
Five new restaurants and a bakery have opened in the last 18 months, and the YMCA re opened with a brand new building less than a year ago all in walking distance.
The YMCA is really nice. There’s good stuff within walking distance, but not much has opened right near the building. I wonder how all the tennants moving in will affect the area.
Will go rental when finished.
