Development Watch: Johnson and Gold?
We got an email from a reader who had noticed a new scaffolding that has gone up on an existing 4-story building on Johnson Street near the corner of Gold. He’s curious to know what’s going on. So are we.

I wouldn’t bet on the developers group getting that project, heard some pretty awful things about the way they handled sales at toy faactory, I think they might have a tarnished image since then.
A friend of mine told me that the Developers Group gets all of that developers buildings exclusivley. He said if it wasn’t for them the toy factory building would have sat vacant…
ITs not Costas Kondylis but Ismael leyva…
There are two condo towers planned for the site on either side of Gold St at Johnson. Designs are by Costas Kondylis and are not too shabby. Same developer as the Toy Factory. The scaffolding is for demolition of the existing four buildings on the east site. The west site was demolished last year. Can’t wait for the pile drivers to wake me up. Toy Factory dwellers in the A-line will loose their lovely views. Folks at 170 Tillary will be in the shadows as well.
The jail site is affordable housing, I believe.
1 is a 40 story tower the other I believe is 30 stories. CONDOS!!
Hey wow the guys who did the demo on that jail were real pros….it looks like you could plant corn on that lot now it’s soooo smooth.
I don’t know, but does anyone know what’s going on where there used to be the overflow jail at Vanderbilt and Flushing? Just a big empty lot now. What’s the plan?
