If you have an angry letter for City Council Members David Yassky and Bill de Blasio regarding their apathy towards the Atlantic Yards development, hold off on stamping and sending it. The Atlantic Yards Report previously expressed frustration at their absence from key public hearings, but noted that on August 4th these two councilmen—finally—added their voices to the cry for greater disclosure from the developers. According to the press release from the Prospect Heights Neighborhood Development Council, they are “calling on the Empire State Development Corporation to fully disclose plans for the Atlantic Yards project, including an updated site plan, and prepare a supplemental environmental impact statement (SEIS) for public review.”

  1. Tyburg,

I think we’ve just accepted the fact that we don’t need to rehash the same arguments we’ve been having over AY for the last four years every time there is a new post on the topic. Proponents blame the lawsuits. Opponents blame it on lack of planning and foresight by the developer/MTA etc. etc. etc.

Really, is there anything new to say?
