499 Vanderbilt Shows a Little Bit of Skin
The netting is starting to come down on 499 Vanderbilt, a 13-unit residential building. The HRA’s eventual move to 470 Vanderbilt might be good news for local businesses but what does it mean for renting or selling the apartments in this building? What’s going to happen here is that there will be no problem whatsoever renting these apartments and the skraggley gaggle of auto repair shops and gas stations will begin to disappear. Atlantic Ave is Atlantic Avenue, a major thoroughfare, but I think we will see a shifting of what is around to more retail to serve these new entrants into the neighborhood. Parking is going to get tougher and tougher in the neighborhood though.
won’t make any difference as HRA entrance will be on Clermont, NOT on Vanderbilt thus invisible to this building people are paying 4000/mo to live next to housing projects
I’m not sure why the HRA next door would matter? Again, gas station next door, kind of a bummer. Still, I am curious to see these.
Bring back the burqua.
