The third story now has a bay as well.
There are 3 houses in a row on 6th Av. in the Slope that have bays & are painted wood. They’ve been refurbished in the last 2 years & are very nice. Not sure, but between 3rd & 6th St.s I think.
Are they allowed to frame out the house with wood because it’s an alt 1 on a pre-1968 house?
Most of the victorian clapboards in the SF Bay Area have them too.
I love victorians!
Given that a real design firm is working on this, I’ll bet it turns out to be a pleasant surprise.
Then again, I think those shingles are/were butt-ugly on the side of a house.
there are victorian clapboards on lafayette at clermont with bays
Interesting. Still a wood frame, while mimicking the brownstone bay window. Those are some nice tall windows for the bay.
[Glad the thread is back from the twilight zone. I agree with DIBS, I would love to watch the progress on this one.]
Don’t you have a special relationship with the Devil, not to mention his detail, Dibs?
I don’t think that the inclusion of a bay window necessarily means it’ll be “brownstoned.” many victorian clapboards had bay windows just like this. Mine in Chicago did.
