According to Lost City (and the reader who sent in the photo at left), Court Street was blocked off this morning to make way for the a large crane that will be, reportedly, involved in the demolition of the building. “The word from the surveyors is: It’s coming down!” writes LC. “Has to come down. I read somewhere amongst the blogs that it’s the 3-story annex in the back that is coming down. You can see the annex from the satellite images on Google Maps.

Yeah, Thursday morning at about 3am the roof collapsed (across the street from my apt). I think it was abandoned anyway, so it’s almost certainly coming down. My question: why do two dozen cops have to be stationed around the site at all times?! Budget deficit, anyone?
I suggest young architect be on the design committee to ensure no stagnation.
just you wait – a scarano bldg is my prediction. no way they are going to leave a hole in the ground on prime court street. i bet the ink on that DoB set is already dry!
