Yo, Anyone Got Any Bluestone?
As part of an unfortunate sewer line repair, we’re going to be fixing the sidewalk in front of our house. Our plan is to restore it to 100% bluestone (and widen the tree bed a bit in the process). We’re looking for a few good pieces of bluestone (ideally at least 2′ x 2′), so…

We’re looking for a few good pieces of bluestone (ideally at least 2′ x 2′), so if anyone has any spares lying around, we’d love to take them off your hands. You’d have our undying gratitude, and be helping out with some streetscape improvement in a landmarked block. We can be reached at brownstoner@brownstoner.com. Thanks.
“As part of an unfortunate sewer line repair” …
So, Mr. B., this must mean that some agency acted to repair the hole in your street about which you previously posted?
And a way was found to get them to act fairly quickly (in the last 2-3 weeks)?

I’m also curious what blue stone costs.
Our browstone has two front courtyard areas that we are planning ot have the pavers ripped up to be replaced with bluestone.
about 16×16 and 16 x 4
Any ideas on costs?
how much does blue stone cost or sell at? Just curious. Is there a company that buys that stuff?
if The What surfaced and offered the bluestone, would he also receive your undying gratitude? i sense a conflict.
I agree….enlarging the tree pit is a must if you want the tree to survive and be healthy.
Agree with Argyle Road. I don’t think you’ll need any new stone if you widen the tree pit enough. Now, just find a mason who’ll want to tackle that fiddly job….
The Fort Greene Association is looking to sell bluestone, as they’re enlarging the tree beds in Fort Greene and will have extra. You can e-mail them here: info@greenfgch.org
The tree pit could be enlarged to encompass the whole rectangle of broken bits. You can salvage those to repair other areas. The existing tree pit is way too small.
