Anybody know why Monteleone’s (355 Court Street in Carroll Gardens) hasn’t reopened yet? There used to be a sign posted about their renovations, but the sign has been taken down, and we’ve been craving their lemon cookies for months now.

The best baker of italian goodies is Alba’s of 18th ave. Sal the owner sold the building and Luguigi the baker moved to 4060 Hyland Blvd. on Staten Island. It is called Luigi’s Dolceria. They delivery daily to Brooklyn.718-317-8450
According to neighborhood gossip, the contractor went MIA. Not unusual. But here’s the twist, the contractor is allegedly in jail for bank robbery!!! Needless to say, he’s not worry about which clients he stiffed. So the owners’ of Monteleone’s have had to bring in a third partner to help get the business running again. But this is all hearsay.
