“I thought the pulled pork sandwich would be another import with a Southern accent, but it was more nicely in tune with a Vietnamese bánh mì sandwich. The pork was topped with tangy pickled carrots and served on a brioche bun with a side of breakfast potatoes. All together, it may have been the most fully realized item on the menu.” [NY Press]

Cobble Hill’s Tuller Closes Shop
Could it be the first Fairway casualty? Or did Stinky steal their business? One poster says, “Owner moved to California for better quality of life. Simple as that.” [Chowhound]

“East Williamsburg: A tipster sends word, and photographic evidence (above), of the first plywood we’ve ever seen that deserves enshrinement on Streetsy: ‘I’ve been keeping my eye on an upcoming restaurant on Grand St. between Lorimer and Leonard. The plywood outside says Wombat, Bar and Restaurant, Aussie Style.'” [Eater]

Convivium Osteria
“The most impressive dish of the night seemed to have a decidedly Portuguese flare. As an appetizer, we ordered pan roasted quail in a sauce of port and figs. After an ill fated trip to Porto during which I tasted a dozen different varieties of port, I decided that I was just not a fan of fortified sweet wine. But the port sauce on this dish was a sweet and fruity delight. Once we were done devouring the quail meat which fell from the bone into the sauce with just the slightest nudge from our forks, we used our bread to sop up the sauce until the plate was clean.” [Gothamist]
