Celebrate Brooklyn
This weekend concludes BRIC’s 29th annual Celebrate Brooklyn concert series at Prospect Park. Today, Friday, August 10, features the 1977 Bollywood classic Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin. The evening is hosted by DJ Rekha. Tomorrow, Saturday, August 11, is an all-day African festival of music, food, and crafts, including a stellar musical lineup led by Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars. “Days of Glory” Screening

Weeksville Tour
This Saturday, the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment hosts “Past, Present and Future.” Learn about the area known as Weeksville and its historical significance from licensed NYC tour guides. Bergen Street Carnival and Health Fair
This Saturday, hosted by Bethel Baptist Church Youth and Missionary Ministries, this event combines food, live performances, and health care screenings and information. In addition, for the flat price of $15 ($10 for kids), there will be unlimited rides and games. Located on Bergen Street between 3rd Avenue and Nevins.

Nostalgia Train Excursion
This Sunday, August 12, the New York Transit Museum is offering the second of three Brooklyn-bound Nostalgia Train excursions. Take a guided tour through Stillwell Avenue Terminal and learn how solar power lights and cools the station. Coney Island, Brighton Beach Tour
