This Friday starts the beginning of the 51st Fulton Art Fair. Enjoy medias of all kinds such as painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, music and dance, and installations. After the art fair, stick around for a while and the KIDflix Film Festival starts at 7:30 p.m. each Friday. This Friday’s short features “Misunderstood” directed by Clark Johnson. The Stoop 09 at Fort Greene Park
This FREE annual community gathering brings together talented artists, community organizations, and the people of New York City. Featured artists include: Keys N Krates, The Kid Daytona, Gist, Caleb Curtis, Fascious, The Approaching Storm, The Astronomical Kid. All are welcome. Saturday, August 8. 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Fort Greene Park (Myrtle Ave & N. Portland).
Brooklyn Flea
The Brooklyn Flea takes place in Ft. Greene on Saturday and its historic Brooklyn Bridge location on Sunday. Both locations feature a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. Saturday, August 8. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, Lafayette Avenue between Clermont and Vanderbilt Avenues. Sunday, August 9. 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. In Dumbo, underneath the Brooklyn Bridge at the corner of Water and New Dock Street.

Felix Mendelssohn’s 200th Birthday
Celebrate the renowned German composer’s birthday by listening to the String Orchestra of Brooklyn this Saturday night. Take the time to party like it’s 1809. Tickets are $10.

The featured films are “Even: As You and I” (1937), “The Furies” (1934), “Meat Love” (1989), “Coney Island at NIGHT” (1905), and two rare cartoons from the 1930s. Tickets are $10. Sunday, August 9.
