Music and Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests
Brooklyn’s own Crystal Stilts opens for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests (a series of silent films featuring then upcoming stars from 1964 – 1966). Dean & Britta will perform their original scores to Warhol’s short portraits. All performances are free with a $3 suggested donation. Saturday, August 1. Doors at 6:30 p.m. Prospect Park Bandshell.
Brooklyn Flea
The Brooklyn Flea takes place in Ft. Greene on Saturday and its historic Brooklyn Bridge location on Sunday. Both locations feature a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. Saturday, August 1. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, Lafayette Avenue between Clermont and Vanderbilt Avenues. Sunday, August 2. 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. In Dumbo, underneath the Brooklyn Bridge at the corner of Water and New Dock Street.

Art Walk in Park Slope
A 30 block sidewalk art sale will be sponsored by the Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District (BID). Several artists are expected and there will be something for everyone, including the kids. Children are welcome to display their creativity on 4th Street and 5th Avenue for a Park Slope Kids Chalk Art Extravaganza around Washington Park. Chalk will be provided. Saturday, August 1. 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. Chalk Art from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. 5th Avenue between 3rd and 4th Streets, Washington Park.
Seining at the Brooklyn Bridge Park
Join the Coastal Marine Resource Center for a day filled with East River creatures! Families and kids can look at their findings before they release the creatures back to their natural surroundings. Space is available for 30 kids, ages 4 through 12, plus their parents/guardians. To reserve a space, please e-mail rsvp@bbpc.net. The shows remain free, but to benefit this park, OSA is offering VIP Benefit Tickets that provide easy entrance through the VIP gate, to hang in the VIP area near the artists and stage at the production center, while enjoying limited complimentary beer, sangria and the riverfront breeze.
