Blind Pig Who Wants to Fly
Rooftop Films and the International Film Festival of Rotterdam present a stunningly strange series of interweaving sketches that include a Stevie Wonder-singing dentist, a woman who eats firecrackers, and a pig, all investigations of alienation, politics, love and lust. Opera Grows in Brooklyn
AOP and Opera on Tap return to Galapagos Art Space for the another round in an ongoing series. The music of David T. Little will be featured along with performances by David Adam Moore, Mellissa Hughes, Lauren Worsham, clarinetist Eileen Mack, cellist Jody Redhage. Brooklyn Flea
The Brooklyn Flea takes place in Ft. Greene on Saturday and its historic Brooklyn Bridge location on Sunday. Both locations feature a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. Saturday, July 18. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, Lafayette Avenue between Clermont and Vanderbilt Avenues. Sunday, July 19. 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. In Dumbo underneath the Brooklyn Bridge at the corner of Water and New Dock Street.

India Street Mural Project
The India Street Mural Project, presented by North Brooklyn Public Art Coalition (NbPac) and Council Member David Yassky, are revealing the artists finished works. Live music will be performed by Japanther, Ninjasonik, Dilian, Small Black and others. Saturday, July 18. 2:15 p.m. Press Release and Ribbon Cutting. 6p.m. – 8 p.m. Afterparty. Park Slope Electronics Recycling Event
PerScholas is a non-profit organization that saves electronics from landfills. PerScholas is hosting an event to help recycle electronics. Computers and electronics will either be refurbished and given to low-income families, or recycled to comply with ISO 14001 regulations. Saturday, July 18. 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. 88 9th Street between 2nd Avenue and Smith Street.

The Great Hot Dog Cook Off – 4th Annual
Amateur chefs will compete with their strangest take on the classic hot dog in the hopes of being awarded ‘Best in Show.’ Support City Harvest by indulging on some mystery meat concoctions. Music by DJ Rabbi Darkside. Saturday, July 18. 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. 529 Waverly Avenue, Kelso Brewery.

Block Star 1: Brooklyn
The Park Place Improvement Block Association and the Hampton Sterling Virginia Place Kingston Ave. Block Association with Street Dreams Creations invites all to Block Star 1: Brooklyn — a day of flying, fun, frolic and food. There will be a free skateboarding school conducted by Homage/Uptown Skate School, open skating on the blocks, and youth and adult best run and best tricks contests. Saturday, July 18th. 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. On Park Place between Kingston and Albany Avenues in Crown Heights near Brower Park.
