Atlantic Avenue ArtWalk
The Atlantic Avenue ArtWalk is a self-guided artist open studio tour featuring exhibitions, public art projects, special events, with local businesses hosting a range of artwork and events. Visitors can enjoy exhibits, view and buy work, meet the artists, and sample Brooklyn restaurants, shops, and bars at their own pace. Brooklyn International Film Festival
The 12th Annual Brooklyn International Film Festival begins this weekend. The Festival will present over 120 film premieres that were selected over 2,786 submissions coming from 111 countries. The films will be combined in 81 film programs and each film will be shown twice. The Festival will operate two screening rooms side by side.
Starts tonight and runs through June 14. $10-100. Brooklyn Heights Cinema, 70 Henry Street.
Brooklyn Flea
This week, the Brooklyn Flea takes place outdoors in Ft. Greene on Saturday only; there’s no Flea in Dumbo this Sunday as we prepare for the launch of the Brooklyn Bridge Flea next Sunday, June 14.

Sustaining Brooklyn
Sustaining Brooklyn-Energy for the Future: A Skills Building Conference will provide information, skills and resources necessary to establish a sustainable Brooklyn. The community-driven and community focused agenda will explore energy and fiscal conservation, as well as community sustainability and preparedness.

Renaissance in Newtown Creek Tour
The Municipal Art Society of New York presents this Newtown Creek Tour. On the tour, you will view the NYC DEP Waste Water Treatment Plant and walk along its adjacent George Trakas-designed Nature Trail. Then the tour will cross the Pulaski Bridge to Long Island City, ending at a nexus of contemporary artists’ working and exhibition spaces. The tour leader is Jack Eichenbaum, an urban geographer.

1st Annual Brooklyn Beer Experiment
The 1st Annual Brooklyn Beer Experiment is a beer cook-off and homebrew-off. Taste the delectable beer-infused creations of over 25 amateur chefs, while sampling the best home brewed beers Brooklyn has to offer. Your vote along with a panel of celebrity judges will determine the Brooklyn beer king or queen.

Student-Curated Exhibit on 17th Century Brooklyn
Nineteen local teens have curated an exhibit for the Brooklyn Historical Society titled “Pages of the Past: The Breukelen Adventures of Jasper Danckaerts” which chronicles the voyage of Jasper Danckaerts through 17th century Brooklyn. Participating students are from Brooklyn Technical High School, Cobble Hill School of American Studies, The Packer Collegiate Institute, and Saint Ann’s School.

A Bite of BoCoCa
A Bite of BoCoCa is a food and wine tasting event. It will feature samplings from over 20 of the Smith Street and Court Street restaurants, food and wine shops, and bakeries at only $2 per tasting.

Vinegar Hill Annual Yard Sale is back this weekend. Items will be for sale on Front Street between Bridge and Gold. Refreshments will be sold on Water Street.

Windows Brooklyn
Windows Brooklyn is an art exhibition on display through June 13th that will be installed in numerous storefronts along Court Street and Smith Street in the Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill neighborhoods. Over 35 NYC based artists work will be on display. The exhibition will take art out of the traditional museum or gallery setting and incorporate it into a public space.

Renegade Craft Fair
The 5th Annual Renegade Craft Fair has moved to McCarren Park this year, instead of the pool. Over 300 indie crafters are participating in the fair.

The Compound Fundraiser Art Party
The Compound Fundraiser Art Party is a kid-friendly fundraising event for the Dare to Dream organization, which helps educators learn how to effectively and positively integrate media into teaching children. There will be music, dancing, and Kung fu movies after sundown.
