Brooklyn Heights Association House Tour
Brooklyn Heights Association’s go-at-your-own-pace, self-guided house tour allows visitors a rare opportunity to experience the private homes in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District. Five townhouse interiors, exhibiting a variety of 19th century and contemporary architectural styles, will be open to the public for the afternoon. You can purchase a ticket the day of starting at 12:30 p.m. The tour is held rain or shine.
Saturday, May 9. 1-5 p.m. $30. Tour starts at St.Ann’s School Lobby, 129 Pierrepont Street.
The Color of Hope: BWAC’s 17th Annual Spring Pier Show
Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition’s 17th Annual Spring Art Show at the Pier will display the interpretation of hope in 1600 new works from 300 BWAC members. Opening day festivities include a Meet the Artists Reception with live music by The Loose Marbles, a New Orleans street band playing traditional jazz music. The show runs every weekend through June 14th and is presented inside a 25,000 sq ft historic Civil War-era warehouse gallery space overlooking New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty.
Opens Saturday, May 9. 1-6 p.m. Free. 499 Van Brunt Street.
Brooklyn Flea
The Brooklyn Flea takes place outdoors in Ft. Greene on Saturday indoors in Dumbo on Sunday. Both locations feature a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry and food.

BKLYN Designs
BKLYN DESIGNS is an exhibition of designers and manufacturers of contemporary furnishings, lighting, and accessories made and/or designed in Brooklyn, all handpicked by a jury of editors from leading design and shelter magazines.

P.S. 58 Spring Carnival
The P.S. 58 PTA is having its annual Spring Carnival with a day full of music, arts & crafts, games, activities, and more. All proceeds go directly to the P.S. 58 PTA. There will be a bouncy house, dunk booth, food tables, bake sale, and a student art exhibition. The event is rain or shine.

BKLYN Designs House Tour
Part of this year’s festivities is a house tour curated by Dwell magazine. It’s a self-guided tour of five cutting-edge contemporary homes that “exemplify an aesthetic in home design that is modern, idea-driven, and sensitive to social and physical surroundings.”
Saturday, May 9. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. $40. Tour starts at the BKLYN DESIGNS ticket office of St. Ann’s Warehouse, 38 Water Street.
Fifth Annual Bicycle Fetish Day
City Reliquary is throwing a block party for your bicycle. At their fifth annual Bicycle Fetish Day, there will be bike related events including awards and celebrations of bicycle culture, bike artwork, bicycle rides, and bicycle beautification stations to spiff up your wheels. Food and beer will be available for purchase. An afterparty in City Reliquary’s spacious backyard will follow later that night.

Flatbush FreeMeet

Gangster Walking Tour of Red Hook

The Gowanus Springtime Revue

Vox Pop will be throwing a grand re-opening party. The line up includes Rene Collins, The Loom, members of The Prigs, a short film by Adam Bryant, the jazz stylings of Justin Wert, and more.

An Open Book Series: Marvelous Moms
Let the little ones show their appreciation for mom. Join the Brooklyn Children’s Museum in the new Everett Children’s Library for vocabulary-building poetry, stories, and word games that will help them find the perfect thing to say to their mom. For ages 7 and up.

I Love My Mommy
For the preschoolers (ages 5 and under), the Brooklyn Children’s Museum is hosting an event with story time and singing songs with mom. Kids can also create a flower and decorate a card to express how much they love mom.
