F Stop Brooklyn Closing Party
The inaugural show of work by members of F Stop Brooklyn, the new Prospect Lefferts Gardens photography group, has been extended past it’s original January 10th closing date. We will have a closing party this coming Friday, January 20th, from 7–9 PM at 65 Fen, 65 Fenimore Street, Brooklyn,NY 11225. If you haven’t seen this show, with work from seven photographers, please take advantage of this last opportunity.

A Special Day for Special Kids at the New York Transit Museum
he New York Transit Museum and Extreme Kids & Crew invite families with children who have special needs to visit the Transit Museum on Sunday, January 22 for a Special Day for Special Kids. Families with special needs kids receive free admission to the Museum between 10 am and 11 am, with a 50% discount thereafter when the Museum opens to the general public. A variety of transit-themed activities are scheduled throughout the day including an art project using old metrocards, a scavenger hunt on the Museum’s platform level and a musical performance by the Brooklyn-based M Shanghai String Band. In addition, a “Quiet Room” for special needs families will be available from 10 am to 2 pm as a place to take a break from the excitement.

Free Concert in Clinton Hill
It’s the the Clinton Hill Society’s second concert at St. Luke & St. Matthew Church at 520 Clinton Avenue, Clinton Hill, on Sunday, January 22nd, 2012 at 3PM. Hear a sampling of the music on the repertoire by linking with www.urielvanchestein.com. Uriel is a clarinetist and composer, he will be performing with Ying Fang, a soprano, and Shijun Wang a pianist. Refreshments will be served.

Grand Tasting at The Winey Neighbor
The Winey Neighbor, a boutique wine store in Prospect Heights/ Crown Heights, is going to host their first Grand Tasting on Saturday, January 21st from 4-6pm at 679 Washington Avenue. In order to celebrate cultural diversity, support local businesses and strengthen our community, the free of admission event will features free samples from neighboring artisan food makers, local gourmet chefs and international wines importers. In the Grand Tasting one can expect to find Caribbean cuisine paired with an Austrian Grüner Veltliner, or locally made Artisanal cheese paired with homebrew Double Chocolate Stout. The event is free and open to public.

Brooklyn Flea + SmorgasBrewery
The Flea is indoors at beautiful Skylight One Hanson both Saturday and Sunday. And don’t forget about SmorgasBrewery, a mini-Smorgasburg featuring a rotating cast of five Flea/Smorg food vendors serving inside the Brewery’s Tasting Room on North 11th St. in Williamsburg on Sundays. The Flea runs from 10am to 5pm at Skylight One Hanson and SmorgasBrewery runs only Sunday from noon to 5pm.
